Centrally located in the lower North island, this means Wellington city is never far away approximately 40 minutes by car or train, the airport is close at hand and should you wish collection/drop off this can be pre-booked.

The fabulous Kapiti coast is within easy driving distance and the Waiararpa wineries are a hop across the hills and you are right in the heart of some of the most famous vineyard's in the New World.

There is lots to do in the local area including:

  • Wairarapa winery visits
  • Canoeing on the Hutt river
  • Surfing - in Lyall Bay
  • Walking/cycling - in the Tararuas
    or on the Rimutaka rail trail
  • Fly fishing the Hutt river and many streams in the area
  • Horse riding at the local stables

  • Kaitoke Regional Park Rain forest, around 2000ha.
    A peaceful & picturesque rainforest to walk in and enjoy a picnic with an abundant of native plants trees and wildlife.
  • Short Straw Cafe
    Wellingtons regions first cafe to be built from straw bales.  Locate in the rural splendour of Whitemans valley.  Great for a lunch or just a coffee and a pastry.
